As part of Santee Cooper’s effort to enhance our ability to provide a safe work environment for all team members, our Safety Department has implemented a new safety software called Intelex. Intelex is regarded as one of the leading systems in the industry. It tracks and reports data input by the entire team, which allows us to analyze trends, draw insights, meet compliance requirements and, most importantly, help prevent safety incidents before they happen.
When Senior Manager of Occupational Health and Safety Andy Green joined Santee Cooper late in 2023, his primary goal was to encourage his team to be more proactive.
“We want to be bottom-up safety,” said Green. “Our safety culture was more management driven, and we needed to create ownership and a sense of pride in our safety record.”
