ELG Rule Compliance Data and Information
On May 9, 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency promulgated Supplemental Effluent Limitations Guidelines and Standards for the Steam Electric Power Generating Point Source Category regulations (40 CFR Part 423) revising the technology-based effluent limitations guidelines and standards (ELGs) for electrical utilities. This Rule establishes standards for flue gas desulfurization (FGD) wastewater, bottom ash (BA) transport water and legacy wastewater at existing sources, and combustion residual leachate (CRL) at new and existing sources. Owners and operators of any ELG applicable wastewater facilities are required to establish and maintain a publicly accessible ELG internet site by the effective date of the rule which is July 8, 2024. This website is intended to satisfy this requirement for Santee Cooper’s ELG applicable facilities under the Rule.
