CCR Rule Compliance Data and Information

On April 17, 2015, the Environmental Protection Agency promulgated the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Subtitle D regulations (40 CFR Part 257) regarding the management of Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) generated by electrical utilities. This Rule established standards for the management and disposal of CCR. Owners and operators of any CCR unit were required to establish and maintain a publicly accessible CCR internet site by the effective date of the rule which was October 19, 2015.  This Rule was updated via the Legacy CCR Rule on May 8, 2024 with an effective date of November 8, 2024. This website is intended to satisfy this requirement for Santee Cooper’s CCR landfills and surface impoundments under the Rule.
